Doctor's advice:
- «TB prevention has two aspects. The first one is all the actions aimed at maintaining a good immune system. They include a healthy lifestyle, «rest period - study» regiment and adequate nutrition. The second one is specific prophylaxis. This includes vaccinations to be administered to all the infants still in the maternity hospital, as well as regular check-ups by way of a Mantoux test. The latter allows to detect the ingress of infection at an early stage».
«Parents should always understand what is happening with their child, as well as the action plan of the doctor. Then the parents more actively and carefully follow all medical recommendations».
«A good doctor should be an excellent diagnostician, who can find the right treatment. Another essential aspect is the ability to find approach to the patient, establish a psychological contact with him, so that he could tell not only about the disease, but also about the concurrent factors. For tuberculosis, it is of great importance to diagnose microsymptoms which cannot be immediately noticed».
