General description
Complete blood count — the most common clinical test for assessing the state of the body of a healthy and sick person. The analysis includes an assessment of the leukocyte count and manual calculation of the leukocyte formula, the level of immature granulocytes, neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio, assessment of the quality of the red blood cell (red blood cells, haemoglobin, red blood cell indices — MCV, MCH, MCHC, normoblasts), platelet count.
Complete blood count and manual calculation of the formula form the basis of any clinical examination of all areas of clinical activity, which allows to assess the basic functions of the blood, the presence and activity of any pathological process in the body.
