Low back pain is very common. It can be the result of a sprain (injury) of muscles or tendons in the back. Other causes include arthritis, structural problems, and disc injuries. The lumbar spine, or lower back, is an extremely well-designed structure of interconnected bones, joints, nerves, ligaments, and muscles that work together to provide support, strength, and flexibility. However, this complex structure also makes the lower back susceptible to injury and pain.
Anesthetic and/or steroid blockade is a therapeutic and diagnostic manipulation that allows you to get rid of pain and return to normal life. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia.
