The consultation is conducted in an ophthalmology clinic equipped with modern equipment, including a slit lamp and a set of diagnostic ophthalmic lenses (including a Goldmann lens for contact examination) and a binocular indirect ophthalmoscope.

The examination is carried out with pupil dilation, which is achieved with the help of short-acting mydriatic drops. This is necessary for a more detailed examination, except in cases of patients suffering from glaucoma.

The consultation includes examination of the eyes with a slit lamp, a set of ophthalmic lenses, as well as optometric tests using an autokeratorefractometer and keratopography of both eyes.

The effect of dilated pupils begins 10-15 minutes after eyedrops and lasts on average up to 3 hours or more. During this time, it may be difficult to read, write, work at monitors or drive a car. In sunny weather, it is recommended to wear sunglasses outdoors.

If it is necessary to examine the fundus or drainage area of the eye using a Goldman lens, additional anesthetics are used. The anesthetic effect lasts about 30 minutes.
