MRI of the breast to assess the integrity of the implants
The service is provided exclusively by referral from a specialist.
During it, an MRI examination of the breast implants is performed.
Indications for the procedure: screening examination of the breast for the integrity or damage of the implants.
There are no age restrictions on the procedure.
Duration of the scan: 30 minutes, performed by a radiologist and an X-ray technician.
Preparation for the examination
This examination does not require special preparation. However, there are a number of contraindications:
- pacemaker,
- biostimulator,
- cochlear implant,
- vascular clips (except titanium),
- metal ferromagnetic remains and prostheses,
- corneal transplant (up to 3 months),
- first trimester of pregnancy.
For a scheduled visit, be at the reception of the department 15 minutes before the examination.
The results of the study (film (on request), description, recording of the complete study on an optical media) are issued after 6 hours, in complex cases the time is extended to 24 hours.
