A nasocytogram is a cellular analysis of a nasal swab, which is performed to clarify the etiology of inflammatory nasal diseases (rhinitis). This is especially important for the diagnosis of allergic rhinitis (ICD-10: J30- J31) and to avoid inappropriate treatment that exacerbates the symptoms of allergies and expands the range of “causative” allergens.
