Pulsed radiofrequency neuromodulation is a non-narcotic needle therapy that can be used for many purposes, one of which is the treatment of chronic pain. When an area is identified, pulsed electricity is used to create an electromagnetic field at the tip of the needle. This electromagnetic field is believed to change the balance between inflammatory (pain-causing) and inhibitory (pain-relieving) factors in the immediate area to reduce pain.
