Specific diagnostic treponema test that detects antibodies to the antigens of Treponema pallidum (pale treponema), the causative agent of syphilis.
This qualitative and semi-quantitative test is used for screening blood donors and clinical diagnosis of syphilis.
The test allows to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment. Ig G antibodies appear during the acute period of the disease and can persist in cured patients for up to 20 years or more.
