The “Dobrobut” medical network and the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (NaUKMA) have signed a cooperation agreement that provides for a partnership in developing modern medical education in Ukraine. Within this collaboration, the medical network and the national university are establishing a medical faculty, with “Dobrobut” serving as its clinical base.
The institutions have joined efforts to address systemic challenges in medical education in Ukraine, in particular the focus on formal outcomes (obtaining a diploma) rather than the development of practical skills, clinical competencies, and the value-based foundation of future physicians.
“We see this cooperation as an opportunity to contribute to shaping a new culture of medical education. We aim to educate a national medical elite — free-thinking humanists and agents of change who are able to think critically, act responsibly, and build trust in Ukrainian medicine both domestically and internationally,” said Serhii Kvit, President of NaUKMA.
“Medicine is first and foremost about practice and responsibility. As a clinical base, ‘Dobrobut’ will take on the task of developing students’ clinical competencies so that future doctors enter the profession prepared for real work with patients, not only with theory,” emphasized Serhii Orel, CEO of the “Dobrobut” medical network.
The partnership between “Dobrobut” and NaUKMA aims to create an educational environment that respects human dignity, fosters leadership qualities, and prepares specialists capable of becoming a driving force for change in Ukrainian medicine.
