Comprehensive Eye Examination

The ophthalmologists at Dobrobut Clinic have access to a modern range of high-precision diagnostic equipment. You will undergo a comprehensive diagnostic examination with no additional charges — everything is already included.

Who is a comprehensive eye examination recommended for?

• Those who notice a deterioration in vision and require an in-depth assessment of their eye health.
• Those who regularly wear glasses or contact lenses.
• Patients aged 18 to 40 years.
• Those who are planning laser vision correction.

What does a comprehensive eye examination include?

• Assessment of refraction and visual acuity (autorefractokeratometry and visual acuity testing).
• Measurement of intraocular pressure (non-contact tonometry).
• Visual acuity testing without glasses and with glasses (distance and near).
• Assessment of binocular vision.
• Optical biometry of the eye.
• Corneal topography using different methods (Placido disc — anterior corneal surface; Scheimpflug — full corneal profile).
• Cycloplegia.
• Optical coherence tomography (OCT) of the retina and optic nerves (if indicated).
• Biomicroscopy of the eye.
• Fundus examination using a fundus lens.

The examination is performed by an ophthalmologist with the assistance of a nurse. The doctor determines the necessary scope of examinations and develops an individual treatment plan.

How to prepare for the examination

• The comprehensive examination may take 1.5–2 hours.
• Patients who wear contact lenses should stop wearing them: 5 days in advance — for soft contact lenses / 2 months in advance — for rigid contact lenses.

Pupil dilation is performed for all patients. Therefore, for 6–8 hours after the examination, you should not drive, work at a computer, or perform activities involving increased visual strain.

*The term “comprehensive examination” refers to a Comprehensive Ophthalmological Examination (extended refractive examination).
