What is PCR testing and how it works:

PCR test for COVID-19 shows if coronavirus DNA or RNA is available in human organism. This accurate test allows detecting the virus in the first days of infection. PCR is done by taking samples from the patient's upper respiratory tract (nasopharynx).

If you have symptoms of an acute respiratory illness such as fever, cough or shortness of breath, have recently been in close contact with a person diagnosed with coronavirus infection, or returned from the country with a high risk of COVID-19 infection, don’t hesitate to get tested and receive treatment if necessary. If you plan to take a PCR test, you need to discontinue medical procedures or the use of medications in the site of biomaterial collection (upper respiratory tract) 2 hours before the test.
