Starting from February 27, 2024, Dobrobut Medical Network will provide free infertility treatment services under the state medical guarantee program. This is the first major contract of the network with the National Health Service of Ukraine.

Women under the age of 40 with a diagnosis of female infertility or male infertility in their husbands can apply to Dobrobut for free treatment.

To receive free services at the Dobrobut Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) department at 3 Simi Idzykovskikh Street, a woman must receive an electronic referral from an obstetrician-gynecologist at a medical facility with a special multidisciplinary consultation. It refers patients with one or more diagnoses of infertility for treatment with ART.

If necessary, a patient can contact Dobrobut to receive an electronic referral and to attend a multidisciplinary consultation.

You can make an appointment for a consultation with a fertility specialist at the Dobrobut contact center by calling (097) 495 2 888, (050) 495 2 888, (044) 495 2 888.

A woman can undergo up to two free ART treatment cycles per year. If a child is born as a result of the first cycle, a woman will not be able to use the state program of medical guarantees for infertility treatment anymore. If the patient does not become pregnant after the first cycle of treatment, the NHSU finances a second (full or partial) cycle in the current year.

The full cycle of treatment includes

  • controlled drug stimulation of the ovaries in a woman;
  • monitoring of follicle growth and endometrial development;
  • aspiration of the ovarian follicle contents under ultrasound and anesthesia;
  • searching for oocytes in a woman's follicular fluid;
  • obtaining, special processing and preparation for fertilization of the patient's husband's sperm;
  • fertilization of eggs by ICSI and cultivation of the resulting embryos;
  • embryo transfer and monitoring of the patient's condition until pregnancy.

Pregnancy is determined by the level of the hormone hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) in the patient's blood. If the result is positive, the woman undergoes an ultrasound in two weeks to confirm the uterine pregnancy.

Incomplete treatment cycles are those that end with embryo freezing (if there are contraindications to transferring embryos into a woman's uterus) or transferring pre-frozen embryos into a woman's uterus (cryoembryo transfer).

"According to the WHO, the prevalence of infertility in Ukraine is on par with developed countries: on average, 12% of couples have difficulty conceiving. Assisted reproductive technologies offer high chances to become parents. For example, the latest data from the European IVF Monitoring Consortium (EIM) show that with artificial insemination, the pregnancy rate per embryo transferred is 34.1%, and the birth rate is 26.1%. At Dobrobut, we currently employ 4 fertility specialists, and they consult up to 100 patients every month. We see the desire of Ukrainians to procreate even in the most difficult conditions of war. That is why we joined the state program of infertility treatment so that more Ukrainian families could experience the joy of parenthood," said Svitlana Shiyanova, leader of the Assisted Reproductive Technologies department at Dobrobut Medical Network.
