Tonsil lavage: when and how it is performed
Tonsillitis is most often has a chronic form. The disease is difficult to treat, and many patients just do not pay attention on the signs of periodic recrudescence of a pathological process. Contraindications for the procedure
A patient has to undergo certain tests before the procedure. It is associated with the need to level out possible contraindications. Tonsil lavage with one of the techniques mentioned above is contraindicated in the following cases:
- acute respiratory diseases with high body temperature;
- diagnosed malignant tumors;
- hyperthermia (elevated body temperature) of an undetermined origin;
- tuberculosis.
It should be noted that the sensitive gag reflex is a relative contraindication. Irrigation of larynx with the lidocain solution can be used to relieve the condition, but patients admit that vomituritions become less intense during the 2nd or the 3rd procedure.
Tonsil lacunae lavage is an efficient procedure for the treatment of chronic tonsillitis.
