"Dobrobut" support by Vodafone will perform 9 free heart surgeries

Dobrobut Medical Network has become a partner of Vodafone Ukraine's Good Deed as a Gift charity program.

The Dobrobut Foundation will use the funding of UAH 1 million received from Vodafone to conduct surgeries for children with congenital heart disease.

About 10 thousand children with this problem are born in Ukraine every year. The program "Big Future of Small Hearts", which is one of the key activities of the Dobrobut Foundation, provides Ukrainian children with congenital heart disease, whose parents cannot pay for treatment on their own, with access to minimally invasive heart surgery, the author of which is a well-known cardiac surgeon of the Dobrobut medical network, Oleksandr Babliak. Such surgeries provide children, including infants, with a full life.

"Surgery on a child's heart is a difficult test for the whole family. Minimally invasive surgery, i.e. without a large sternum incision, helps to go through this journey quickly and with minimal trauma. The child can walk the next day, and return home on the third or fourth day. The only thing he will remember is a small mark under his right arm", said Oleksandr Babliak, chief cardiac surgeon at Dobrobut Medical Network.
