Dobrobut Opens a New Enrollment for Free Training Program for Veteran Healthcare Professionals

Dobrobut Medical Network is launching the second edition of its Medical Education for Heroes program, offering 20 veteran healthcare professionals the opportunity to complete free professional training at the Dobrobut Academy. Participants will be able to choose a medical specialty that matches their professional background and career goals.

The initiative is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine and Veteran Hub. The project's media partner is Ukrainska Pravda. Zhyttia.

Project objectives

• integrate veteran healthcare professionals into the civilian medical community;
• provide access to high-quality professional education and opportunities to renew qualifications at Dobrobut Academy;
• apply military medical experience to strengthen Ukraine's healthcare system;
• support veterans returning to civilian life and medical practice.

The program is designed for veteran healthcare professionals who want to:

• refresh their medical knowledge after military service;
• confirm or update their professional qualifications;
• obtain a new medical specialty.

The training program lasts approximately three months and is delivered in a blended format (online learning combined with in-person sessions in Kyiv at Dobrobut Academy). The available specialties include programs for physicians, nurses, and paramedics.

After reviewing all applications, an expert committee will select 20 participants based on the following criteria: medical education, verified veteran status, motivation, future plans in civilian healthcare, and professional achievements prior to military service.

Last year, the program received 69 applications from physicians, paramedics, and nurses who had served as combat medics in stabilization points, mobile hospitals, and medical evacuation teams. The most popular specialties included ultrasound diagnostics, radiology, healthcare management, and physical and rehabilitation medicine.
