Sedentary lifestyle, age-related changes, chronic diseases can result in a deterioration in venous blood flow and vasodilatation, which can manifest as bulging veins, skin vasodilation, spider or starburst veins.
Sclerotherapy is the gold standard for removing enlarged skin vessels. At Dobrobut clinic chain, sclerotherapy is performed using its modification called cryosclerotherapy. The main advantage of this technique is a low recurrence rate, as well as a short recovery period and no restrictions after the procedure.
The essence of cryosclerotherapy is that the vessels are cooled before the administration of the sclerosant. Zimmer cryocooler is used for vessel cooling at Dobrobut clinic chain. The cryocooler provides a significant cooling of major vessels (reticular veins) that nourish other vessels, due to which the vessels narrow and completely expel the blood. After that, a sclerosant is injected into the vessels, blocks the blood flow and ensures the complete disappearance of the vessel.
The procedure is performed using Syris imaging systems and AccuVein augmented reality systems: due to the use of infrared light, a phlebologist can see and influence a vessel that has become invisible after cooling, and using contrasting light, he/she can see the smallest vessels that require an influence. The enlarged image is displayed on a special monitor, which ensures more targeted work with the vessels.
Optional imaging systems influence on speed and quality of the procedure performing.
At Dobrobut clinic chain we use soft and combined sclerosants, which, in combination with the cooling technology, ensure the maximum effect of the procedure.
The procedure has no contraindications. The result of the procedure can be seen almost immediately, but it will be more pronounced and persistent in a period from 2 weeks to 2 months.
Minimal side effects can manifest after the procedure, such as bruises that clear up quickly and do not result in a patient’s discomfort.
There are standard limitations after the procedure, however, the period of wearing of compression garments is much shorter.
The procedure lasts up to 1.5 hour.
