Radiography is performed to examine specific lesions in case of infectious diseases such as arthritis, pneumonia or myocarditis as well as to identify diseases developed in the chest, namely, heart and lung diseases. Sometimes, in case of individual indications, the diagnosis of the digestive organs, joints, kidneys, spine and liver should be performed.
Advantages of radiography:

- it is widely available and easy to perform;
- it is possible to use its results by various medical specialists;

Indications are as follows:
- checking the correct insertion of the endotracheal tube, central venous catheter in the intensive care unit and general resuscitation department;
- receiving test results of the treatment efficacy;
- confirming lesions in various organs.

- radiography of bones of the skull, nose, paranasal sinuses, bones and joints, sternum, clavicle, ribs, spine, pelvic bones;
- plain and excretory urography, cystography;
- irrigography (in pediatric patients);
- radioscopy of the thoracic cavity;
- radioscopy of the proximal parts of the gastrointestinal tract (esophagus, stomach, duodenum);
- irigoscopy;
- endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography;
- percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography;
- fistulography;
- hysterosalpingography.
