Removal of intradural extramedullary tumor (spinal cord)

Intradural extramedullary tumors are located inside the dura mater of the brain, but on the surface of the spinal cord, and not inside its parenchyma. Most of these tumors are benign and usually present with meningiomas and neurofibromas, two of the most common primary spinal cord tumors. A feature of these tumors is their rapid growth, which leads to compression of the spinal cord and neurological disorders. Therefore, the main method of treatment in Ukraine is surgery. Removal of the spinal cord tumor leads to the restoration of its functions and the disappearance of the symptoms of the disease.
