Mammoplasty (breast plastic surgery)

In Ukraine, this type of operation can be performed independently or in combination with other methods. Fat transfer to the breast implies a consultation with a surgeon and an anesthesiologist. Ensuring the collection of material from the donor area (usually these are “trainer-resistant” places), cleaning of fat cells, and transfer through a thin cannula into the breast tissue.

This procedure is not suitable for all women; it has its own limitations. Before the operation, the doctor examines the patient, prescribes an examination of the mammary glands and tests to identify contraindications.

Breast lipofilling is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that requires the special equipment and jewelry work of the surgeon. Small trauma allows one not to stay in the hospital for a long time. Several hours are enough for observation.

Like any other form of mammoplasty, the operation is performed from the age of 18. This is exclusively aesthetic surgery, therefore, it implies the emergence of a woman’s desire to correct the existing volume and shape of the bust without the use of implants.

Another important condition is that the patient must have an excess supply of fat for transfer, plus a lack of tendencies to sudden jumps in body weight.

There is no medical indication for pumping fat into the breasts. Here, the priority remains with the patient’s desire. In addition, lipofilling is used in combination with other types of mammoplasty - in particular, when correcting the shape of the tubular breast.

This type of aesthetic surgery is considered minimally invasive, with minimal risk of complications. Nevertheless, before pumping fat into the breast, the doctor should collect as much information as possible about the patient’s health and the structure of the mammary glands.

Besides biochemistry and general tests, which are prescribed before a surgery, women undergo an ultrasound, MRI of the mammary glands, and mammography. An electrocardiogram and fluorography are also done.

The anesthesiologist chooses the type of anesthesia, but in most cases, it is general anesthesia. The operation takes 2-3 hours on average.

Stage 1: a collection of own fat cells from the donor area

Areas prone to high-fat content are used - belly, thighs, buttocks. The pumped-out fat is sent to a centrifuge to be cleaned from impurities. Erythropoietin and growth factors can be added to the emulsion.

Stage 2: injections of adipose tissue into the corrected areas

A thin cannula with a rounded end is used to transfer the fat emulsion. This ensures a minimum of damage to blood vessels and tissues.

When pumping fat into the chest, there is no need to suture, since all manipulations were performed through small punctures.

After the end of the operation, the puncture sites are disinfected and closed. The patient is removed from the state of anesthesia and moved to the hospital for a full recovery.

Strong overheating of the body and exposure to UV rays must be avoided. It is necessary to abandon sleep on the stomach and fitness until complete recovery, it is necessary to limit the physical impact on the chest.

If you suspect complications, inform your doctor immediately. Do not take medications and ointments without a prescription. For a while, give up the care cosmetics for the bust.

On average, the transferred fat after surgery adapts to the new site for 3 months. The survival rate of cells depends on the individual characteristics of the organism and ranges from 30% -80% - the organism spends part of it. That is why the effect of the operation is considered reversible. The volume remaining after 3-4 months becomes “constant”, provided that the woman does not dare to drastically reduce weight.

For breast lipofilling, the price is commensurate with the cost of plastic surgery through implants and depends on the volume of fat transferred:

• up to 600 ml - 1 category;
• over 600 ml - category 2.
